Clinical Obligations
1. Attendance & Punctuality
Students must adhere to their assigned clinical schedules. All absences must be reported in accordance with program policy. Excessive absences or tardiness may result in disciplinary action, including possible dismissal from the program.
2. Clinical Hours
Students are required to complete assigned clinical hours across various shifts, which may include the following:
- 5:00 AM – 1:00 PM
- 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM
- 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
3. Professional Conduct
Students are expected to demonstrate professional behavior at all times. This includes adherence to the dress code and respectful interaction with patients, staff, instructors, and peers.
4. Clinical Competency
Clinical proficiency must be demonstrated through completion of required procedures and evaluations. These assessments are conducted by qualified instructors in accordance with ARRT and program standards.
5. Patient Privacy (HIPAA Compliance)
Strict adherence to HIPAA regulations is required. Any breach of patient confidentiality will result in disciplinary action, up to and including dismissal from the program.
6. Health & Safety Compliance
Before participating in clinical education, students must fulfill all health and safety requirements, including:
- Immunizations
- Drug screening
- Background checks
- Students must also adhere to all safety protocols, particularly those involving radiation protection.
7. Transportation & Conferences
Students are responsible for their own transportation to and from clinical sites, as well as any required travel related to professional development or conferences.
