麻豆原创 at Shreveport (SUSLA) recognizes the importance of giving back to the community that supports it. This year, for World Kindness Day, SUSLA aimed to make a difference by kicking off their participation in the annual KSLA Food Drive. SUSLA's faculty, staff, and students came together to collect non-perishable food items to support local families in need. Participating in this year's KSLA food drive is a tangible way to show appreciation and support for the local community.

The food drive, which ran from November 13th to 22nd, received an outpouring of support from the SUSLA community. Collection bins were located on the main campus and the Metro Location, making it easy for faculty, staff, and students to contribute. The main campus received donations throughout the day from the community as well as students from the Allied Health Programs, SGA, and the SUSLA Soundwave Band.

"I am incredibly proud of the SUSLA community for their generous support of the Holiday Food Drive," said Dr. Aubra J. Gantt, SUSLA Chancellor. "This initiative demonstrates the compassionate spirit of our students, faculty, and staff, and their commitment to making a positive impact on our community."
The "World Kindness Day" campus initiative, directed by Roshundra Davis, Director of Marketing and University Relations, addresses SUSLA's commitment to community service beyond this annual food drive. Ro Davis stated, "Our university aims to continuously engage in various outreach programs that benefit our local communities. These efforts demonstrate SUSLA's dedication to being a good neighbor and a valuable asset to the Shreveport-Bossier City region."
The collected food items will be donated to the Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana to help provide meals for those in need during the holiday season. This initiative not only addresses food insecurity in the community but also fosters a sense of civic responsibility among SUSLA students, faculty, and staff.
